The Boylan Bottling Co., founded in 1891, is honored to share very similar beginnings with the carbonated beverages of the same era that are now world-famous. But it is our differences of today of which we are most proud. For more than a century Boylan has formulated and produced, regardless of cost, only “authentic soda-pop,” unlike most bottlers in the country who have over the years compromised their original recipes and cut costs by switching to corn syrup and plastic bottles. Boylan still uses pure can sugar, which enhances the true flavor rather than leave a syrupy aftertaste and thick glass bottles to ensure freshness and proper levels of carbonation. Our in-house flavor formulations use the most expensive extracts and essences – and plenty of them. At first we had developed a California type black cherry; fruity with berryish notes. It was good but not exceptional. So our focus turned toward a traditional black cherry soda, one that would be heartful and flavorful, and could be enjoyed with lunch and not “get lost.” Boylan Bottlework’s Black Cherry’s deep flavors come from a blend of different cherries along with proprietary ingredients. Older customers tell us that it is reminiscent of Dr. Brown’s Black Cherry tasted like 40 years ago. 
Although roo beer dates back to the 1860’s, it was not until recently that there has been a dramatic sales increase in this flavor category. This new popularity is due partly to the super-creamy style of root beer that is now being bottled. Even though these vanilla-laden root beers are tasty and have instant appeal, we believe that consumers will tire of them quickly. It is for this reason that Boylan had chosen to develop an authentic, traditional tasting root beer. Boylan Bottleworks Root Beer has a rich and spicy sassafras flavor with only a subtle creamy note. 
Although the consumption of ginger ale has been on the decline over the past 10 years, it is still a very popular flavor in New York City. It’s mature characteristics – crisp, dry and refreshing – are what make it so popular. Unlike “ginger beers,” it is not hot and spicy but rather pale and clean. We consider Boylan Bottleworks Ginger Ale to be the most drinkable product in our entire line of sodas.
We created 283 variations of crème soda before settling on this product. The flavor profile was difficult because there are no standards for crème soda. Some taste like bubble gum, some like cotton candy, and some are made with chocolate or coffee. Boylan Bottleworks Crème Soda is smooth, creamy, and delicate like a sweet southern bourbon. This flavor is light, yet tasty, and can be enjoyed on a daily basis.

Boylan Bottleworks Orange Cream Soda is a creative combination of our very popular flavor Orange and the smooth delicate taste of our Crème Soda. These two flavors do extremely well on their own, but when combined they create a flavor, reminiscent of this classic summertime treat, that everyone is sure to love. 
This carbonated soft drink has been the flagship of the Boylan Bottling Co. for over 100 years. Its availability on draught has given it a truly nostalgic that all birch / root beers try to convey. The unique taste is distinctively minty and sharp. Because of its “bite,” this product appeals to the true birch / root beer consumer. Its heritage has created a loyal following among people who associate Boylan’s Birch Beer with their childhood. 
All orange sodas sell well on their appearance alone. Although our product looks great, we wanted it to taste great! Instead of creating a commercial lollipop-type orange, we developed a refreshing, less sweet, citrus, tangerine-like beverage which can be enjoyed even in the morning. 
This product was developed as an “entry level” birch beer. It is similar to the Original Birch Beer, but the addition of vanilla makes it smooth and creamy. Its intended primary target market, youthful consumers, has been hit directly. The overwhelming response in the secondary target markets have led us to realize that this product has great mass appeal. The taste is upbeat, sweet, and creamy – qualities that all consumer groups find universally attractive.
This is our most daring foray into the development of carbonated soft drinks. Boylan Bottleworks Grape has an oaky concord grape flavor – bold, full bodied, and unparalleled by any grape soda in the marketplace today. If this sounds like a wine review, it should!
By adding the essence of lemon to our Seltzer Pure, we have recreated a very popular bar drink – seltzer with a twist of lemon. In addition to this essence, natural imported lemongrass oil has been blended in to enhance the full flavor of lemon without the bitterness. This unique version of lemon-flavored seltzer will appeal to all consumers looking for a zero-calorie beverage.
